About Filton Concert Brass

Originally formed in 1973 under the name of Avon School of Music, Filton Concert Brass has since flourished over the years into a well respected competition and community based ensemble - Filton Concert (F1) being our competition band and Filton Community (F2) our non-competing band. Filton Concert is proud to be Bristol's leading Championship section Brass Band - a status we have held for the past 10 years after being crowned multiple West Of England champions in the 2nd and 1st section. |

The band went on to become British Open Senior Cup champions, British Open Senior Trophy champions and competing in the British Open Grand Shield!
Aside from competing, the band enjoys a busy calendar of events including sell out concerts & festivals!
Previous winners of both Wychavon Entertainment Contest & 4 times winners of the Welsh Open, the band is no stranger to entertaining audiences with their exciting, innovative themed performances!

Filton Community Brass (F2)

F2 is the non-competitive band of the organisation, with a focus on casual music making. The band can be found performing at a variety of events in the local community throughout the year. There are no entry requirements, all ages and standards are welcome to attend this friendly, relaxed ensemble. Rehearsals take place on Wednesday evenings at Kingswood Salvation Army hall, between 7.45pm - 9.45pm. Please contact us via the contact page, or email at [email protected] for more information. |
