The last decade has been the most successful in the band's history. Having already been crowned as multiple West of England champions in the Second and First Sections, and in 2015 the band was crowned as the First Section National Champions of Great Britain, securing Championship Section status for the very first time.
Since then, the band has matured into a respected competition ensemble, becoming British Open Senior Trophy Champions in 2016 and British Open Senior Cup Champions in 2017, before competing in the British Open Grand Shield for the first time in 2018. In 2017 the band, for the first time in its history, qualified for the National Brass Band Championship Finals, performing at London's Royal Albert Hall alongside some of the most revered names in the brass band world. The band's entertainment ability has also been much acclaimed, winning the Welsh Open Entertainment titles in 2016, followed by a hat-trick of wins in 2018, 2019, and 2020, also claiming the Wychavon Festival of Brass title along the way in 2018.
Aside from contesting, the band has a growing concert schedule. Notably in 2018, the band travelled to Palanga following an invitation to perform the gala concert for the Lithuanian National Brass Band Championships. 2018 also witnessed the release of the band's first CD Tales from the West Country, starring guest trombone soloist Brett Baker alongside the band. 2019 saw the release of the band's second CD Christmas with Filton Concert Brass, proving a popular festive treat to concertgoers who enjoyed the band's acclaimed 2019 performance of The Snowman, live with the film!
The band dedicates all of its work to Jim Scott, their founder and a champion of brass performance and education in the Bristol area, who sadly passed away in 2014.
