Resident Conductor

Lewis started his conducting career aged 18 whilst studying music at Durham University. In his time there he conducted the university brass band, symphony orchestra, and opera ensemble, accumulating several awards for his contributions to the institution. Upon graduating Lewis started his own ensemble, Orchestra Cipriani, specialising in early 19th century repertoire. He was also invited to conduct several brass bands in the North East, including Fishburn and North Skelton, notably winning 7 contests in the last 2 years. Lewis is currently undertaking a Master’s Degree in conducting at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama under the guidance of Dr Robert Childs.
