We are proud to announce that our 1st Horn player Samantha Ford won 2nd place in the Birmingham Conservatoire's The Great Brummie Solo Contest, Open Slow Melody category, adjudicated by Ian Porthouse. Samantha was also awarded the Highest Placed Horn Player award for the overall contest. The contest took place in January 2021 and had 60 entries from 9 different countries and raised over £300 for Cancer Research UK.
Samantha was awarded for her performance of Martin Ellerby's Elegy, the 2nd Movement from his Tenor Horn Concerto.
