Jason Sellars joins the band on the Front row following a thirty-year career in The Royal Corps of Army Music. Since his retirement from the Army, he has established himself as a freelancer with several semi-pro-orchestras and pit bands on the musical theatre circuit, coupled with Brass Band contest successes with Yeovil, Shrewton Silver and Woodfalls bands. Jason says he is “delighted to be back playing at the very top level of banding and looks forward to competing once again in the Championship section” The band also welcomes Jason Andrews, adding to the lineup for Wychavon Contest on Bass Trombone. Jason, who is Head of Music at Rednock School in Dursley, is looking forward to the challenge, joining from Wotton-under-Edge band where he has spent four happy years. A band spokesman said, “It’s great to welcome these new players into the band and we are looking forward to welcoming even more over the next few weeks as we look to strengthen our ranks into the new contest and concert season.”
