Podium place in Championship Debut!

Filton Concert Brass made their Championship Section debut at the 2015 West of England Regional Championships, held at the Riviera International Centre, Torquay, on Saturday 14th March. The band is particularity proud to have reached this landmark in it's short history and is also proud to be the first band to represent the City of Bristol at this level since the turn of the millennium. 

Conducted by their Musical Director Tom Davoren, Filton gave a performance off a late number ten draw which the critics of brass band website www.4barsrest.com described as 'with brio and verve' and 'a performance that grew in stature impressively'.  After a solid and musical performance the band were awarded third place out of twelve, Filton's highest ever placing at the Regional Championships, ahead of a selection of established championship bands, by adjudicators Dr. Roger Webster and David Hirst. 

Filton Concert Brass would like to congratulate Flowers Band and Camborne Band on their qualification for the National Championships at the Royal Albert Hall and look forward to competing at the forthcoming British Open Spring Festival against some of the best brass bands from all over the United Kingdom.
