On 19th May Filton Concert Brass were delighted to feature as part of the Milford Haven Music Festival's concert series with a performance in St Katherine's Church.
The band performed an eclectic choice of music to the appreciative audience, including several items from the band's recently released CD Tales from the West Country, such as the popular Prelude on Lavenham (Geoffrey Nobes), West Country Fantasy (Gordon Langford), Eric Ball's famous march The Torchbearers, and MD Tom Davoren's very own Living Power, amongst many others.

The band also featured a number of soloists. Solo trombone Andrew 'Sid' Norman delivered an upbeat rendition of Swinging down the Alley, while assistant principal cornet Kayleigh Mitchell performed a beautiful rendition of Leonard Ballatine's Don't Doubt Him Now (see attached video - mobile devices please click here).
With regular solo euphonium Anthony Smith's wife Lucy expecting their second child any time now, Thomas Dunne stepped up to the end, expressively delivering the euphonium solo Ar Lan yr Mor. Lastly, guest player Georgie Evans from the Tongwynlais Band performed ABBA's Slipping through my fingers with stylish lyricism.
The band would like to sincerely thank the organisers of Milford Haven Music Festival for the invitation. We loved performing at the event, and hope to return in future!
